Despite losing three quick wickets, Labuschagne and Head ensured the Aussies would not face any further trouble in the match. Labuschagne ended the night unbeaten with 58 runs off 110 balls, while Head’s destructive century came in just 120 balls at a strike rate of 114.17.

Stubbs took to social media to share her elation at the Australian team’s achievement, in particular Head’s “legendary” innings.

Sunday’s win gave the Australian Cricket Team their sixth men’s World Cup title and their second in three editions after their home triumph in 2015.

“I think Australia is probably as sexist as any country in the world” –  Rennae Stubbs discusses on the lack of coaching opportunities for women in her country home.

In a previous interview with Courier Mail, Stubbs had expressed concern over the lack of coaching opportunities for women in Australia, including in tennis and football. She went on to say that Australia is “as sexist as any country in the world,” and that women would be judged more harshly than men for their decisions if they were coaching at the highest levels.
