Maria Sharapova and Lewis Hamilton share warm embrace at F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

At the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Maria Sharapova and Lewis Hamilton, the star of Formula One, exchanged a warm embrace. This year, Sharapova has indulged her passion for motorsports by attending several Formula One races. At the Monaco Grand Prix, she also got to give Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing the Pirelli Pole Position trophy.

On Sunday, November 26, the five-time Grand Slam champion had the opportunity to catch up with Ons Jabeur at the season’s final Grand Prix. Star-studded attendance at the race included actress Priyanka Chopra and supermodel Naomi Campbell mingling with Maria Sharapova. Lewis Hamilton took the time to mingle with some of the celebrities before the race, giving Sharapova a warm embrace after giving Campbell a hug.

The 2023 World Champion, Max Verstappen, won his season’s 19th race in Abu Dhabi, setting a new record. Charles Leclerc of Ferrari finished in second place, while George Russell of Mercedes came in third. In contrast, Hamilton came in ninth place and ended the season in third place in the World Drivers’ Championship rankings.

Maria Sharapova drew attention to the significant difference in prize money between the ATP and WTA last month during a Bloomberg Screentime conference with Jason Kelly.

Grand Slam events may claim equal compensation, but the prize money disparity outside of the Majors, according to the former World No. 1 player, is “insane.”

Additionally, the 36-year-old stressed that in order to address these problems in the sport of tennis, the ATP, WTA, and ITA must work together.
