Red Bull boss Christian Horner slammed for ‘very unprofessional’ Lewis Hamilton comments

Following his remarks about Lewis Hamilton, Christian Horner, the CEO of Red Bull, has faced additional criticism.

After disclosing that he had discussions with Lewis Hamilton regarding joining his team, Christian Horner has been called “extremely unprofessional.” Following the disclosure, Christijan Albers, a former Formula One driver, urged the Red Bull team principal to exhibit greater “class.”

Horner disclosed last week that prior to signing a new contract with Mercedes, he had a conversation with Hamilton’s representatives. He later said that Anthony, the father of the British national, was the one who inquired about the possibility of him replacing Sergio Perez in 2024.

Prior to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this coming weekend, Hamilton refuted the allegations. Whether or not contact was established doesn’t bother Albers.

However, the Dutchman asserts that Horner ought to have kept it a secret. Albers stated on the F1 podcast of De Telegraaf: “You know whether it happened or not, that is actually not relevant at all, in a secretive way.

Horner claims he’s held talks over Hamilton being part of the Red Bulls

The professionalism you must project as a group is what matters. You don’t need this at all if you have managed such a large team and achieved such great outcomes as the team leader there.”

Albers claims that because of the possibility of it being leaked, drivers will now be hesitant to engage in exploratory talks with Red Bull. “I think it’s just not done,” he continued. To cut a long tale short, I simply think it’s very unprofessional.

“You have to be careful to maintain your sense of style and keep this in the living rooms. It is not advisable to disclose such information as it has made other drivers cautious and may cause them to reconsider joining a prestigious team such as Mercedes or Ferrari, should they strike up a conversation with another team.”

Horner maintains the story is exaggerated and has denied any misconduct. It’s incredible how much attention this has generated, he said to Sky Sports. A conversation is not out of the ordinary.
