Tiger Woods said he can do this on the PGA Tour while he recovers from his surgery

While he continues to heal from ankle surgery, Tiger Woods will only play in one tournament per month in 2024, but he still thinks he can win on the PGA Tour.

The 15-time major champion hasn’t played much since sustaining a leg injury in an automobile accident in 2021.

At the PNC Championship in Orlando on Sunday, he and his 14-year-old son Charlie shot a final-round 61.

Woods remarked, “I know I can still do it if I can prepare, practice, and do the things I know I can do.”

I’m still able to hit the golf ball. It just requires preparation, completing enough repetitions and work, being in good physical shape, and having the necessary endurance.

“My leg hasn’t been strong enough to allow me to compete and play a lot of rounds.

I’m still able to hit the golf ball. I’m still able to chip. I’m still proficient at putts.

“Yes, it’s also assembling everything for a total of 72 holes. That’s the difficult aspect of it.

At the 2019 Zozo Championship in Japan, Woods tied Sam Snead’s record of 82 Tour victories, marking his last victory on the PGA Tour.

He had to withdraw from the Masters in April and undergo ankle fusion surgery before making his most recent injury comeback earlier this month at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.

Although he was unable to use a golf cart at the PNC Championship—something he is not permitted to do on the PGA Tour—the American claims his ankle is still holding up well.

Woods, who turns 48 on December 30, said, “A lot of things are aching a lot more than my ankle, which is the way it goes.”

“We’ve been exercising diligently and have recovered. It’s great that we’ve been training every day.

I’ll be honest: I haven’t made a meaningful shot in a while, so it’s been good to shake off a lot of the rust and some of the doubt.

At the 36-hole competition that was once known as the Father/Son Challenge, Team Woods tied for fifth place. Meanwhile, Sam, Woods’ sixteen-year-old daughter, camped out at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club alongside her father Charlie.

“It has been such a special two days to have both of my kids there,” Woods continued.

“Just thankful that we can have experiences like these.”

Two-time Masters champion Bernhard Langer, 66, of Germany, along with his son Jason, took home the title.
