Northern group raises concern over marginalization in NGF.

The Northern Emancipation Network (NEN) has raised concerns over what it sees as a deliberate attempt by the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) to marginalize Northern professionals in the administrative staff structure. NEN alleges that the Director-General of the NGF, A B Okauru, is behind this, and that he is taking advantage of the governors’ complacency.
NEN is calling on the governors to investigate the matter and take action to rectify the situation. This is a serious issue that could have far-reaching consequences for the NGF and the Northern region as a whole. It is important that the governors address it immediately.

NEN believes that the marginalization of Northern professionals within the NGF is a form of nepotism and favoritism, which is against the principles of fairness and equality. The group also points out that it is inconsistent with the spirit of the Nigerian Constitution and the rule of law. NEN argues that this practice undermines the credibility of the NGF and could lead to a loss of public trust.
NEN calls on the Nigerian Governors to demonstrate their commitment to the principles of equity, fairness, and justice by taking swift and decisive action to rectify the situation.

The group also urges them to take steps to ensure that the NGF’s administrative staff structure is representative of the entire country, not just one region or ethnic group.
NEN also suggests that the NGF establish a system of checks and balances to prevent any one individual from having too much influence over the organization. They suggest that this could be done by setting up an independent advisory body or an audit committee, which could provide oversight and accountability.

NEN believes that this would help to ensure that the NGF operates in a transparent and fair manner.
Finally, NEN calls on the media to play a role in raising awareness of this issue and encouraging the Nigerian Governors to take action. They believe that the media can help to educate the public about the importance of having a diverse and representative administrative staff structure in the NGF.
NEN emphasizes that this issue is not just about the NGF, but about the principles of justice, fairness, and equality. They believe that it is important for all Nigerians to stand up against marginalization and fight for a more just and equitable society.

NEN strongly condemns the unjust treatment and unwarranted dismissal of individuals based on baseless claims, and insists on strict adherence to due process.
Anaruwa’s statement went on to say that “The NEN is deeply concerned about the irregular appointment of the NGF’s Director-General, which has resulted in a prolonged tenure that is not in line with the letter and spirit of the NGF’s Constitution.”
The NEN calls for the immediate rectification of the situation, in order to restore transparency and due process within the NGF.

They also call for the respect of constitutionalism and the rule of law, to ensure that all members of the NGF are treated fairly and with respect.
The NEN further states that “The NGF has been a beacon of good governance in Nigeria, and we believe that any violations of the Constitution or the ordinary rules of decency will erode the confidence of the public in the organization.”
The NEN is committed to protecting the integrity and credibility of the NGF, and will continue to advocate for a just, fair, and transparent organization. They believe that the NGF must serve as a model for good governance in Nigeria, and that all Nigerians should be able to trust in its operations.
