Watch: Tiger Woods ranked himself fourth and dubbed himself the “Mount Rushmore of golf”

Tiger Woods unveiled his “Mount Rushmore of golf” a few years ago, listing himself among the top four.

Tiger Woods has shattered the majority of professional golf records. He is an 82-time PGA Tour winner, having won 15 Major titles. Thus, it should come as no surprise that he chose to rank among the golf equivalent of Mount Rushmore. In the midst of the 2018 Ryder Cup, he was asked to name his golf course, Mount Rushmore. Sam Snead, the seven-time Major champion, was the first name he mentioned. Next he picked Jack Nicklaus, the 18-time Major winner, and then Bobby Jones, the 13-time Major champion. It makes sense that he listed his own name as the fourth name, given his accomplishments on the professional golf circuit.

Tiger Woods may play in the PGA Championship, the second Major of the year, when he returns to the golf course. In his 22 starts at the competition, he has made 18 cuts and nine top-10 finishes. He has finished in second place three times and has won the championship four times. In 1997, Tiger Woods won the PGA Championship for the first time, defeating Sergio García by a single stroke. This marked his career’s second Major victory. He won the tournament twice, the first time coming from a playoff victory over Bob May three years later.

In 2006, Woods won the PGA Championship for the third time, defeating Shaun Michael by a margin of five strokes. The next year, he defeated Woody Austin by two strokes to retain his title. He lost to Brooks Koepka by two strokes in 2018, the last time he finished in second place here. Here are some of Woods’ previous PGA Championship performance:

Since taking home the Masters Tournament trophy in 2019, the 48-year-old golfer has not won a major. With 18 Major victories in his career, Jack Nicklaus is still three titles ahead of him. In addition, he only needs to win once to hold the record for most wins among PGA Tour players. In 2019, he won the Zozo Championship for the last time.
