Lewis Hamilton was asked to do a quick interview for Vogue during the show, in which he described the meaning of the fashion brand he was wearing that night.

He claimed that the Burberry brand he was sporting was inspired by an African-American gardener who fled slavery in the 18th century and settled in Wales, giving rise to the all-black ensemble. He was able to establish himself as the nation’s first black gardener after coming to Wales.

Lewis Hamilton further explained how his necklace, which had thorns, depicted the pain that the black community went through when they were traded as slaves.
