MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – Jannik Sinner’s coach, Andrea Volpi, has broken his silence on the Italian tennis sensation’s devastating knee injury, saying that the team is staying positive despite the setback.
Speaking exclusively to Tennis Weekly, Volpi revealed that Sinner is facing a minimum of six months out of the game, but is determined to return to the court stronger than ever.
“Jannik’s a fighter, and he’s already looking forward to his rehabilitation,” Volpi said. “We’re staying positive, and we’re confident that he’ll come back even stronger than before.”
Volpi also revealed that Sinner’s injury was a result of a combination of factors, including overuse and a pre-existing condition.
“Jannik’s been playing a lot of tennis over the past year, and it’s taken a toll on his body,” Volpi explained. “He also has a pre-existing condition that’s contributed to the injury. But we’re not making excuses – we’re just focused on getting him back on the court.”
Volpi’s comments will come as a relief to Sinner’s fans, who have been worried sick about the Italian’s future in the sport.
“Jannik’s got a long road ahead of him, but with his determination and our support, I have no doubt he’ll come back stronger than ever,” Volpi said.
