Novak Djokovic, the world’s top-ranked tennis player, was involved in a car accident on his way to a training session in Belgrade earlier today.
According to eyewitnesses, Djokovic’s vehicle collided with another car at an intersection in the Serbian capital. The impact was significant, causing damage to both vehicles.
Fortunately, Djokovic was not injured in the accident and was able to walk away from the wreckage shaken but unharmed.
“I’m just grateful that no one was seriously hurt,” Djokovic said in a statement. “It was a scary moment, but I’m okay.”
The accident occurred at around 9:00 am local time, as Djokovic was en route to a training session at the Novak Tennis Center in Belgrade.
Djokovic’s team confirmed that the tennis star would still participate in his scheduled training session, albeit with a slightly delayed start.
“The accident was a shock, but Novak is a professional and he’s not going to let it disrupt his training schedule,” said Djokovic’s coach, Goran Ivanisevic.
The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of driving and the importance of staying vigilant on the roads.
Djokovic, known for his dedication and perseverance, is expected to bounce back from the incident and continue his preparations for the upcoming tennis season.
